Pervasive technologies such as machine learning further accentuate the process of enquiry by providing generic solutions that can automate and complement various tasks. Decisions involving AI adoption and automation are often non-trivial as they need to consider not only the technical feasibility but also the economic viability and social desirability aspects. This project aims to study the state of the art in the research area of Artificial Intelligence adoption by firms specifically in the Indian IT services industry and the socio-economic impact on different stakeholders in the society. In addition the project aims to explore taxonomy of socio-economic variables that govern adoption of AI by firms and society and subsequently develop and validate framework to understand the interrelationships between these variables.
